Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Umonic collects when you visit the Website, how that information is used and shared, the third-party services involved, and the rights available to you under applicable data-protection laws.
1. Introduction
Umonic (the “Website”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. We are committed to being transparent about the limited information collected when you visit this Website, how it is processed, and what choices you have. This Privacy Policy applies to all users who access Umonic, regardless of their country of residence.
By using Umonic, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please discontinue use of the Website.
2. Data Controller
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and similar legislation, the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this Website is the operator of Umonic. You may contact the controller by email at contact@umonic.com (see Section 19).
3. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Umonic Website. It does not apply to any third-party website, application, or service that may be linked from Umonic — including the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store, the websites of individual developers, or any advertiser. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we strongly recommend that you review them.
4. Information We Collect
Umonic is an information-only Website. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or submit personal information to read our content. The information processed when you visit Umonic falls into the following categories:
- Technical data automatically collected. When you visit Umonic, our servers and third-party providers may automatically receive data such as your IP address (in truncated or full form, depending on configuration), browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, referring URL, language preference, the pages you view, and the date and time of access.
- Cookies and similar identifiers. Small data files stored in your browser or device to operate the Website and to deliver and measure advertising. See Section 7 for details.
- Advertising identifiers. Advertising partners such as Google may access pseudonymous identifiers in order to serve and measure advertisements. See Section 8.
- Information you voluntarily provide. If you contact us by email at contact@umonic.com, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Umonic does not knowingly collect government-issued identifiers, payment data, precise geolocation, biometric data, health data, or other special categories of personal data.
5. How We Use Information
The limited information we receive is used for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Website and its content.
- To analyze traffic patterns and understand how readers interact with our pages.
- To diagnose technical issues, prevent abuse, and protect the security of the Website.
- To deliver and measure advertising, including non-personalized advertising where required.
- To respond to messages sent to contact@umonic.com.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not engage in any practice that would qualify as a “sale” or “share” of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) as we understand those terms.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar laws, Umonic processes personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, personalized advertising, and analytics that require it.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the Website, perform aggregate analytics, and serve non-personalized advertising.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.
8. Advertising & Google AdSense
Umonic may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense or equivalent programs. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve advertisements based on a user’s prior visits to this Website and other websites on the Internet.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and other websites. You can review Google’s practices in the Google Advertising and Google Privacy & Terms pages.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through the following resources:
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions with equivalent requirements, Umonic relies on a compliant consent mechanism to obtain consent for personalized advertising and to share signals with partners such as Google in line with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, where applicable.
9. Analytics
Umonic may use privacy-respecting analytics services to understand, in aggregate, how readers find and use the Website. Such services may set cookies and process technical data such as IP address and user agent. Where required, IP addresses are anonymized or truncated, and analytics cookies are only set after consent has been obtained.
10. Third-Party Services
The following categories of third parties may process data on behalf of Umonic or independently in connection with your use of the Website:
- Hosting and content delivery — to serve the Website reliably.
- Advertising networks — such as Google AdSense.
- Analytics providers — to measure aggregate usage.
- Security and anti-abuse services — to detect bots and malicious activity.
Each of these providers acts under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review the terms of any provider whose service is relevant to you.
12. International Data Transfers
Because Umonic and several of its service providers operate globally, personal data may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries other than the country in which you are located, including jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your own. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards — for example, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
13. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Aggregated or anonymized data, which can no longer be associated with you, may be retained for longer periods for statistical and historical analysis.
14. Security
Umonic takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD)
Depending on where you reside, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right of access — to obtain confirmation of, and access to, your personal data.
- Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure — to request deletion under certain conditions.
- Right to restrict processing — to limit how your data is processed.
- Right to object — including objection to direct marketing and to legitimate-interest processing.
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to withdraw consent — without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (CCPA/CPRA).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above rights.
- Right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the official channel listed in Section 19. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
16. Children’s Privacy
Umonic is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the user’s jurisdiction, where higher). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If a parent or legal guardian becomes aware that a child has provided personal data, they should contact us through the official channel listed in Section 19 so the information can be reviewed and, if appropriate, deleted.
17. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no industry standard for how such signals must be interpreted, Umonic does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals. You may instead rely on the cookie-management and opt-out mechanisms described in Sections 7 and 8.
18. Changes to this Policy
Umonic may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. The most current version is always available at this URL, with the “Last updated” date indicated at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Website where appropriate.
19. Contact
For any question, request, or complaint regarding this Privacy Policy or the processing of your personal data — including requests to exercise the rights described in Section 15 — please contact Umonic by email at contact@umonic.com. We respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
